The Buckinghamshire Family History Society hosts KIrsty Gray making a return visit this time to rummage around in The Parish Chest on Tuesday 9th April in the Eghams Room.

The Parish Chest held the important documents of the parish. Made of hard wood, heavy (to stop it being stolen) with metal straps and locks it contained the church silver along with such records as church warden accounts, apprentiship records, bastardy and affiliation orders, settlement and removal orders, accounts for the overseer of the poor and much more. As such it is a family historian's gold mine.
