Short Mat Bowls Club

If you would like to try something different you are welcome to join us at the Bourne End Short Mat Bowls Club. Come along and play a few games, tuition and bowls will be supplied. However, footwear must have flat soles and be changed at the venue.

We meet at Bourne End Community Centre at 7.15pm Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the year for a social evening playing friendly games. Your first session is free.

The club has an annual membership of £20.00 plus £5.00 subscription to the Bourne End Community Association. £4.00 is payable per evening of play.

Please note that we do not meet on the first Tuesday of each month.

Our annual celebration was held on Sunday, 26^th January – what better way to spend a very rainy afternoon. Great fun was had but not much skill demonstrated as we tried skittles, mat target and trying to bowl through arches with different scores!!

Every year The Short Mat Bowls Section holds a friendly competition between the highest scoring members of our Monday night bowlers and Tuesday night bowlers. Throughout the year, members have their scores tallied after each session and a running total is kept. At the end of the year, the highest scoring man and woman from each evening then play against each other for the winners shield. This is called our end of year round robin competition.
