On 5th November 1922 the entrance to the tomb of Tutankhamun was discovered by Howard Carter. 100 years later to the week Gillian Hovell "The Muddy Archaeologist" walks us through the discovery. The talk will be on Thursday 10th November.

 

On 5th November 1922, Howard Carter discovered the long lost entrance to Tutankhamun's tomb. On 26th November, he entered the tomb for the first time. Now, exactly 100 years on from that thrilling wait for the entry into the tomb, let Gillian, as your archaeologist guide, share the excitement and the challenge of the fabulous discovery. Enter the young Pharaoh's fabulous world of over 3,000 years ago and thrill to the astonishing way this remarkable archaeological find helped Egypt's story rise from the sands. Gillian will be presenting the talk to an audience in the May Woollerton Hall via Zoom.
