Maidenhead Operatic Society presents Gilbert and Sullivan's gothic opera Ruddigore on November 12, 13 and 14 at Bourne End Community Centre
There's a spooky chill in the air this autumn as Maidenhead Operatic Society presents Gilbert and Sullivan's gothic opera Ruddigore at Bourne End Community Centre. Rose Maybud and Robin Oakapple are in love, but are too shy to tell each other. Unfortunately, Robin is in fact a cursed baronet who is in hiding while his younger brother, Despard, has been forced to take on the baronetcy. Despard in turn has lost his love Margaret and is tormented by the ghosts of his ancestors.
Director Lucy Seymour and Music Director David Batsman, who created our previous productions of HMS Pinafore and The Sorcerer at Bourne End Comunity Centre, have teamed up once again to present one of Gilbert & Sullivan's rarely performed works. Packed with fantastic music, hilarious comedy and the world's most annoying bridesmaids, this show is a treat from start to finish.
Will Rose and Robin admit their love? Will Despard and Margaret be reunited? Book now to find out!
Fully staged and costumed, and performed with live musicians, this is an opportunity not to be missed – so get into the spirit of the season with Ruddigore! The production starts at 19:45.
