Dream Alliance is an unlikely racehorse bred by small-town Welsh bartender Jan Vokes. With no experience, Jan convinces her neighbours to chip in their meager earnings to help raise Dream in the hopes he can compete with the racing elites. Dream Horse will be screened on Sunday 15th May at The New Royalty Cinema.

It sounds like a whimsical tale, but it's actually based on a true story! Even more amazing is that all of the events happened just a few years ago. This inspirational movie was directed by Euros Lyn.
"Dream Horse" rides to victory on the strength of the actors and the charm of small details. The show pony is Toni Collette, who brings a freshness to her performance. She gallops through the exposition, but manages to rein herself in for the emotional moments that are not overplayed. Even when she is talking to her horse in his stall, she never stalls out. We ride with her through sorrow and victory.
"Dream Horse" is worth a trot down to the Community Centre for a viewing (binoculars not needed!).
