David Foster takes us through the key records used in family history research. Using examples from his own family and research he builds a family tree using census, parish registers, birth, marriage and death certificates, newspapers, wills and monumental inscriptions. This practical example shows how you can piece together the jigsaw that is your family history. This talk should help you if you have recently started your research or just want to make sure you have not missed out on how to use any of the basic building blocks.
