In November we will crawl around 50 pubs in and around Bourne End and we do it without leaving the May Woollerton Hall on Thursday 20th Nov starting at 20:00
Stay in your seats and go on a pub crawl in and around Bourne End. Step back in time to see the pubs of yesteryear. Do you remember the Blacksmith’s Arms in Well End or the Anchor in Wooburn? What was the Firefly originally called?
Take a trip down memory lane based on images from Ken Townsend’s postcard collection. Brilliant enlargements of these old pubs on the screen. Did you know there was once on pub or alehouse in Wooburn for every 71 adults. Our ancestors never had cars or streaming films at home so where else did they go for the evening?
Come along on 20th Nov and take a trip down memory lane with Karen Savage and Dave Foster. A pub crawl around 50 pubs without leaving your seat! (You are welcome to use the bar at the Community Centre)
The meeting is in the May Woollerton Hall at Bourne End Community Centre starting at 20:00 (doors open at 19:45).
This talk is free for BEBOPSS members (no ticket required) and £4 for non-members
or pay on the door.
