20190517 MOS Patience The cult of celebrity is not a modern concept. Meet Reginald Bunthorne, aesthetic poet and heartthrob to "Twenty Lovesick Maidens". For one night Maidenhead Operatic Society presents "Patience" by Gilbert and Sullivan.

A year before the story starts the girls had become engaged to a company of Dragoon Guards and they have just returned to claim their brides .... Patience is a timeless satire on the foolishness of those who follow fads and fashions, filled with Sullivan's beautiful melodies and Gilbert's witheringly satirical libretto, which combines to make Patience an evening of comic joy. This semi-staged performance sees the return of Director Lucy Seymour and MD David Hazeldine, who most recently produced My Fair Lady for MOS, as well as our NODA Award-winning The Pirates of Penzance in 2017.
