Parish RegistersParish registers are the most important resource for family history before the start of civil registration in 1837, and there are increasing numbers of indexes, transcriptions and images online.

This talk will survey the wide range available, both free and commercial, for all parts of the British Isles, and how to find out whether the registers for a particular parish are online. A look at the great advantages and the significant shortcomings of these resources will help you make the most of them.
